How to remove press-on nails without any damageUpdated 4 days ago
Hot water method:
Suitable if you have used nail glue. Offers a gentle removal that allows you to reuse your press-on nails.
- Soak in hot, soapy water for 15-20 minutes.
- Gently lift edges with the stick (if they resist, they aren't ready - soak again).
- Buff off leftover glue.
Acetone method:
Suitable if you have used nail glue. Offers a quicker removal, but you will not be able to reuse your press-on nails.
- File off the top of the press-on nails.
- Soak in acetone until the nails start to lift.
- Gently push the nails off with the stick (if they resist, they aren't ready - soak again).
- Buff off leftover glue.
If you have used the sticky adhesive tabs:
- Gently lift the sides with the stick and peel off each press-on.
- Feel resistance? Soak in warm, soapy water for 5-10 minutes, then try again.
- Remove any sticky residue with cuticle oil.
